About the course

This qualification is designed to reflect the role of individuals working in accounting and seeking professional identification. At this level individuals are expected to apply theoretical and technical skills in a range of situations and to display initiative and judgement in planning activities. They have autonomy in performing complex operations and can be responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the work of others within broad but generally well-defined parameters.

Entry Requirements

International students must satisfy the following conditions:

  • An overall IELTS band 6.0 (with no individual band below 5.5) or equivalent
  • 18 years and above with a High School Certificate (Year 12)
  • Completion of FNS50215 Diploma of Accounting – There are prerequisites to 9 units in this qualification; students must complete the prerequisite units as part of FNS50215 Diploma of Accounting before enrolling in FNS60215

Duration

This course will be delivered over 48 weeks, which comprises of 40 academic weeks and 8 weeks of holiday.

Delivery mode and Assessment

The course is delivered over 20 hours per week. It consists of two 8-hour days face to face in a classroom setting and 4 hours of online/distance course work.

Assessments may be conducted through a combination of written questions and answers, case studies, role-plays, and demonstrations.

An average of 15-20 hours of self-study per week is also required in this course.

Pathways

Upon successful completion of FNS60215 Advanced Diploma of Accounting, the student may pursue higher education programs at university level.

Recognition of Prior Learning

We offer everyone the opportunity to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) at enrolment. Students may be granted credit or partial credit in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or prior training.
